Refuge in the Vegetal World is Miya Masaoka’s largest exhibition of her work to date, and spans 2 floors combining works with music, sound, sculpture, photography, three dimensional scores, natural materials and everyday objects. These works layer and reveal hidden systems of linguistic and mathematical logic of Masaoka’s inventions combining sequencing, geometry and patterning.

There is an inherent call to interaction as these works engage what has been called “the active eye” by Donna Haraway, and therefore the “active ear” in these cases.
